Kolej Laila Taib was established in honour of Datuk Patinggi Dr. Hajjah Laila Taib for her selfless dedication and  philanthropic commitments to the generations of sarawakians during her lifetime. Officially launched on 1st March 2010, Kolej Laila Taib immediately changed the face of private higher education in Malaysia through its Kolej Laila Taib Scholarship Scheme. 

The KLT Scholarship Scheme enabled students to study free from any program fees or study loans at the college. Since its students, none of its 1,000 over students have paid any program fees whilst they pursued their respective Diploma programs. This Scholarship Scheme clearly symbolizes the character and grace which Datuk Patinggi Dr. Hajjah Laila Taib carried herself while she was still among us. 

As Datuk Patinggi Dr. Hajjah Laila Taib had always reminded us "Our greatest contribution in life is love & compassion"
